The NBA is guaranteed to have itself a new champion in 2021 as the league moves into the second round of the playoffs.

Following the Phoenix Suns’ win over the reigning champion Los Angeles Lakers in six games in the first round, fans are left with loads of fresh blood heading into the conference semifinals.

Currently, the Philadelphia 76ers represent the most recent championship team with their title win in 1983. The Milwaukee Bucks won in 1971, and the Atlanta Hawks took one home in 1958.

How many titles would you find when looking at the histories of the Los Angeles Clippers, Utah Jazz, Brooklyn Nets, Denver Nuggets and Phoenix Suns? Zero.

While the final second-round field wasn’t settled until the dust cleared on a Game 7 between the Clippers and Mavericks, the NBA didn’t want to wait to get on with their postseason action.

The Bucks and Nets started their second-round series the day before the first round officially ended, and the 76ers and Hawks continued the trend hours before the Game 7 officially tipped off.
