WATCH: Scotland crowd gives WWE fans goosebumps before Clash at the Castle

If there was ever a moment to capitalize on the idea of hosting a WrestleMania internationally, the time is now for WWE.
Throughout the last 14 months, WWE has continued to broaden its horizons by posting Premium Live Events (PLEs) outside of the continental United States, bringing major shows to destinations like Puerto Rico, England, Scotland, Canada, and, most notably in 2024, France.
No matter how action-packed their respective shows were, the fans in attendance showed out at each location by selling out arenas, screaming lyrics to theme songs, and bringing new life to a company that seemingly already reached a peak around WrestleMania 40.
That energy was no different as WWE made its return to Glasgow, Scotland for Clash at the Castle in June 2024, leaving United States fans’ jaws on the floor with countless goosebump-inducing moments, even at an afternoon press conference hours before the first bell of the weekend even rang.
You know you’re doing something right when a sea of rabid wrestling fans is singing every word to Triple H’s theme song in front of the man himself.
Or, when your Undisputed WWE Champion, Cody Rhodes is crowd surfing as fans belt out the chorus to “Kingdom.”

Those pops continued into a Scotland edition of SmackDown on June 14, 2024, with Cody Rhodes and AJ Styles, familiar friends to the international crowds, generating ear-shattering reactions without even having to put on their gear.

With Drew McIntyre competing for a world title in Clash at the Castle’s main event for the second time in a row, those cheers are bound to get louder and louder throughout the weekend, too.
As WWE continues to map out its PLE schedule for the coming months and years, more untapped markets around the world are bound to get serious consideration for some of the company’s non-Big Four events throughout 2024 and 2025.
The bigger question remains: if this wave of momentum continues, could WWE bring a major show like SummerSlam, or even the Grandest Stage of Them All, WrestleMania, to an international crowd in London in the next few years?
Time will tell, but the fans are certainly making their case.
